I don't speak of it lightly - have already been treated three times for depression and on one of those occasions was hospitalised and then treated as a potential suicide - fine now as I know my mental triggers and can take appropriate action.  I also counsel others who get that way to help them recover as I have been able to do.

I am pleased to hear that many of you are coming out and saying that you wouldn't cheer - that doesn't change my opinion that some people would do so.

Yes people are affected - but they are also affected by comments made about them - no one seems to care that people think nothing of saying vile things about Sarah and other royals and assume that Sarah, Mary, Kate and their loved ones wouldn't be affected by those comments.  This is a public forum so it is perfectly possible that members of the royal families do read this - I suspect that there are even people in the palaces with the job of reading these boards to ascertain public opinion.

You seem to be a caring person, Luvcharles  Champagne
I'm glad that you are feeling in a healthier place and that you are able to read your mental triggers well; good on you for counseling others when they are in a low place.

I, too, do worry that some comments here, if read by the people who are the topic of those, often vile, comments might make a person feeling low, hit rock bottom. Hopefully those people know that Dishers on this board are a very small minority of the people in society and that their view is healthy to know about, particularly as a reality check if one starts to believe that Billed Bladet is gospel.
But if my sister or mother were to be examined on this forum (if they were Royal or public figures) I would advise them to give this site a miss.
As Dishers we can only be responsible for what we, ourselves, dish.
I, personally, try to not dish something that might 'destroy a person's self confidence' should they read it.

I've been on this board since April 2007.  Not once - ONCE - have I seen anyone wish a suicide on a royal, nor have I seen anyone cheer the concept.  Never.  Not once.  When one poster did wish a royal dead, they were roundly criticised and banned.

It may be your perception that people would cheer, but IMO, that is your perception alone and has nothing to do with the reality of what this board is about.

If I personally saw anyone wish suicide or death on anyone, let alone a royal, I would have to wonder at the state of mind of the person in question. That individual is not worth my time, and certainly has no real business being in a forum like this  No

I wouldn't be at all surprised if many Sarah haters get their wish soon and she commits suicide - sorry but all these attacks on her will mount up and the mind can only take so much before it snaps - if she doesn't get appropriate help she could take that sort of action and I know that many here and on other boards will cheer.  I won't join them.

This says a lot more about the poster than it does the reader.

Even the most reviled royals/celebrities discussed on this board would NEVER have a death, by whatever manner, cheered in any way.  If the unthinkable should happen, any poster expressing happiness about it would be on the receiving end of a lot of angry responses.

I'm pretty sure suggesting members of this board would cheer someone's suicide when in fact noone has even suggested they would do such a gastly thing is completly against board rules.

Right. I wish the woman would disappear into private life somewhere and get out of the media so I don't have to look at her, but I don't wish her harm. Didn't she inherit a share in her mother's house in Argentina? Out in the Argentinian ranch country somewhere? She could go live in it. If she promised to stay there, I'd chip in on the airfare.

Exactly, FTS. And I don't think that what a lot of posters express for Fergie is hatred, I think it's extreme exasperation along with a streak of contempt when she does something truly slimy and not just stupid. That's what I feel, anyway, and I also think that she's earned it. If she made an honest job of pulling herself together - e.g., hiring an accountant to get her finances under control and then following their advice to the letter - I'd cheer. Won't happen, unfortunately.
