Does he still have all of this property?  I thought that I read that he sold some of the farmland around the Schack.  Did he sell any of this too?

He leased out some of his land, well quite some of it: 25% according to BB. He had to sell of his "Kro" (pub) to pay for Alex's house IIRC.

Why did Alex get screwed Cara?? She got quite a sweet deal imo. A house for free, an apenage for life, a lumpsum, joint custody, a tiara for keeps, still meeting the RF, a good relationship with Jokke (at least in public) etc. etc. ... and a toyboy to top things off. Not bad at all.

sure. it looks like a sweet deal... for any hard working commoner out there and a deal i'd wished on any divorced mom that's trying to make ends meet. but it's a "screw you alex" deal when you put everything that jokke possesses into the balance.

imo it is jokke that should foot the bill for alex and not for the danish taxpayers.

ITA Cara, the Danes should not have to foot the bill for Alex, but let's face it, they foot the bill for Jokke thru his appenage so it's still the same thing.  Unless any monies earned by Jokke on his farm, and if they bothered to split that out, could go to Alex but who knows if that's even enough to support her little lavish life.  I agree, his children SHOULD get his financial support, but I don't think that needs to include Alex for the rest of her life.

Well, if she wanted all that, then she shouldn't have divorced him. And she did, so I don't think it was all that important to her.

He's a grown up. He had the same unattentive and demanding parents as Fred, and the "disadvantage" of being the second son (less importance) and instead of caving to feelings of inferiority and sliding into depression or addictive behaviours, he kept up with his education, focussed on his Schackenborg gift and got on with his life. No wonder he has gorgeous, smart women falling for him. He is a mature, attentive man with a sensible and level-headed approach to life and has the manners, pocketbook and wardrobe that befits a man of his social position. I get it. Thumb up
