Hi my first post (love this website! EXCELLENT  ) Princess Alexandra (now Countess  ) is my absoulte favorite! There is a website dedicated to the Countess so check it out. She made the Royal Family shine. If not for her I dont think anyone would of ever took notice to the DRF! http//..countessalexandra.com I agree Beautypro!  Alex definitely brought more attention, glamour, and energy to the DRF than Mary ever did, even if Mary got lots of hype from the press since she's the CROWN princess. |

I've got this old pic of Fred and Alex looking soooo fondly each other in the eye at an official dinner, but don't know how to post so you'll just have to take my word for it! They were really fond of each other.

IMO, the saddest thing is that now the two brothers are rarely (?ever) seen in spontaneous company (ie not at an organised family event where they are both required to be) with one another. Now they just tolerate one another's families instead of enjoying them. They were obviously very close at some point. Shame.  |

These old photos remind me how beautiful Alex really was when she was young. She probably has the most perfect nose I've ever seen ,and those cheekbones are to die for. So much prettier than Mary ever was!

Don't forget when Martin entered the picture .. he followed Alex all over and also went to hong kong to film "My Home Is My Castle"........ I think if Martin wasn't in the picture they "might" have worked their marriage out (but who knows what happened in their private lives) |

alex did not get a separate salary.
imric edikte gets an allowance because she is sometimes regent.
mary does not get a "separate" salary but 10% of fred's allowance.

There was a genuine warmth and camraderie betwen Fred, Alex and Joachim which has completely disappeared now. |
