for me joachim is more handsome than frederik. if we could say frederik looks handsome with his bunny teeth...  i don't know much about their relationship. if they're not that close becuase of their marriages, then too sad. they're brothers. you can find a lot of wives, but not another brother.  |

I don't know if these videos of Joachim & Alexandra's engagement have been posted before. It seems that there was so much excitement in the air. Alex looks a lot better in the video than in the pictures, imo. At the time I thought her red suit and her makeup were too old for her and I didn't really like her hairstyle, but she was charming and very confident, and the video shows it. Joachim too, looked very good and so young, I know some people here say he's creepy, but I think he hasn't aged well, maybe as a result of smoking and drinking too much. I'm not saying he has a drinking problem but he seemed to age a lot during the divorce and maybe his lifestyle has had something to do with it. What a gorgeous, relaxed and happy couple Alex and Joachim were. I also think that Joachim is the better of the two brothers. He looks sophisticated and confident, a real man, whereas Fred looks like an insecure boy. I love the engagement video! Alex looks so lovely and down to earth, nothing like Mary who was uptight and stiff, fearing every question. Joachim's smoking, IMO, is my only turnoff.

Joachim looked pretty good back then. It's a shame that his smoking has diminished his looks. Even with that, he still is the more attractive of the two at times. He seems to take his role more seriously and like previous posters said looks like an actual man. Whereas Freddles looks like a lost man-child still bitching about his oh so bad childhood. Joachim grew up in the same home and family...did he not? Then why is he not complaining, too?

What caught my eye immediately was the "Diana-ness" of Alex' appearance. After all it was the princess fashion of that time. And what struck me too was how gentle yet immediate Jokke helped Alex learn the ropes: When she was asked to show the ring, she, as every other girl would, started to walk towards the press to present her ring. Jokke simply held her elbow and said something quietly, and she laughed and extended her arm (as probably told). She had been a bit embarrassed, yes, by that faux-pas of hers, but he seemed to have taught her and told her what to do and what not. Whereas his brother let his chosen one run straight into the knives (can't really blame him for that, though  ). And last but not least, Hello Henrik!!! Very handsome pre-pregnancy pictures of the Dame, when he had still been a man... |

[/color] I agree - I also think the queen's english and Jokke's are very posh in the british mould. I always presumed that's why mares does her affected not-at-all-aussie accent when speaking english - because that's how those around her speak. The problem is that even if you have an Aussie accent, you can still speak in an articulate, persuasive and intelligent way....not all aussies have a broad ocker accent. Especially not those who are educated and Mares was from a middle class family. I'm sad to say it because I love mares, but her fake accent really gets my goat!! does she need to speak dansk? of course!! does she need to pretend to be british when speaking english? no way!  chick |
