Mary is not worth it.  The competition is all in her head.

I'm glad Marie is getting hang of Danish.

I like Marie's grasp of Danish!! Very excellent accent from what I could hear - a real effort to speak the language like a Dane and not like she's mentally imaging the words she's saying.

Marie seemed to understand what was being said, but was slightly hesitant in saying much more than a very simple response. Absolutely, perfectly normal for this early on. As she says, reading is easier than speaking and this is the key to learning Danish: the words on the page have nothing to do with the sounds that come out of your mouth!

I'd argue that Marie spends time doing what a good language student does that I'm convinced Moshie never did: parrot Danish speakers. Don't even think about what the meaning of a sound, just repeat it. Slowly but surely, that sound becomes a sentence and then has meaning.

It may be all very hard to understand if you haven't learned another language by living in that country, but I think Marie is on track and soon to make a break-through with the spoken part. Keep up the good work, kiddo!

Mary who?

It means "Stayed away". Her og nu suggests that there's tension between Mary and Marie as Mary stayed away from Marie's birthday. It's quite ironic - they also claim that Alex was embarrasing when she met up with Mary - which makes me think; if there are problems between Marie and Mary AND Alex and Mary but NOT Marie and Alex - who, I wonder, is then the one causing problems.. Whistle
Isnt it Marie who stayed away from Mary's big day?
And Alex created embarrasing attention when she tried to catch her ex-SIL's attention, they write that Alex hunted down Mary...
Its obvious from Mary that she wasnt pleased to see the countess though BB is trying to hype up the kærlige kys... Hug   ME looks quite condescending.

The videographer complimented Marie's pronounciation.

Yes, it was Blush But the other little headline says "Trouble in the Royal family?" so the point still stands. To me it seems the problems - also those between Frederik and Joachim - started with Mary. And why not be graceful when you meet the mother of your children's cousins - someone who paved the way for you and who knows your situation more than anyone? Seems to me this is further evidence that Mary is an insecure snob.

I agree,Mary must be very insecure,I think she knows deep down that she's just the 'slipp- in'  goodtime gal.
Fred & Alex appeared to get along well before ME came into the pic,and I think he's genuinly glad for his bro & Marie.

Ye p - it would also explain her constant need to be in control and to be perfect..

I think it's safe to say Mary is the problem in this family, relationship breakdowns happened the minute she entered the family.  We used to see more photos of F & J together, F&A&J together.  Now we see no interaction amongst siblings and their spouses.

Btw the friends invited to the party are all Fred's friends.  They show up to support Fred.  Mary has made no friends on her own - through her charities, horse stables or anything else she's involved with... they all come through Fred...   Mary's a loser!

I'd love for Mary to piss off one or two of these "paid" friends and see what happens.  It would be hilarious for them to turn on her!

Well I hope Mary gets called out on this.  She has no problem being this way.  As if being future Queen is not enough.  She goes from desperate wannabe to a future Queen and she still has these stupid insecurities and competitiveness.  I think whatever sympathy I had for heard is evaporating.

I think Mary is just very competitive when it comes to other women. With her new "friends" such as Caroline and Helle it is different she doesn't feel threatened by them because they are so out of her league. This is a nice video, the boys clearly like Marie which is important and I have to agree with those of you who stated how comfortable they are in each other's presense. If the boys act up a bit, Joachim and Marie have no problem's with handling the situation.

Also, IMO, Joachim's French is very good. He seems well spoken all around. It is nice to see the boys are being raised multilingual as well, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are learning German as well from Alexandra.

Did Joachim or the Queen at least have a small dinner/party for Marie's birthday??

Marie and Joachim appear to keep their relationship private, which is nice. I am sure she and Joachim must have done something.

Private? I have never seen a royal couple with more "look how happy we are" pictures, kisses, posing in windows and on scooters and what not.

On theother side I think Maries progress in danish is good, she makes short sentences but from what I could hear they were gramtically correct. The R sounds a little overpronounced, but she is getting the hang of speaking witha potatoe in her mouth. she seems to understand most of the questions also.

Joachims and Maries relationship is not very private but it seems to be real. They really seem to have fun with each other, they laugh together and act very relaxed, this is not staged....
I never saw Fred and Mary having to much fun with each other, especially not in the last two years..

I agree Barrie.  Before the ski trip we did not see M & J for quite a while.  I think their appearances are timely and pleasant.  They are just right.
