the voice and accent are a joke - i would love love love to be a fly on the wall when she is with fred or with amber or her father and see if she speaks like that all the time or is it her nervous cameras are capturing ME the princess voice?AS IF ten years ago she would have said "and a CELEBREHTION this EVENING" why not say "my good friend's 40th birthday" if any of my besties landed a prince and started to speak like this, i would slap them over the head - poor amber - she needs the mary connection too much to do the same. i know we have talked about this before but it is truly astounding that she spent her entire youth in tasmania, then lived in Melbourne and Sydney and has only amber and hamish to show for it.

Sophia, I too find this amazing that she has only 2 friends to show for all her previous life. Due to my Dad's work, I moved around all over the place in my childhood. Went to 4 different High Schools alone, and yet I have a couple of close friends from High School, as well as friends I made nursing, travelling and later in life. It is truly remarkable that Mosh, who spent all her youth in one place cannot muster up one real friend from that time. Very telling

I don't know...I don't think it's British accent. It's more like Scandinavian accent to me.

ANDREW DENTON: Yes. What did... When you first met, what did you see in each other? CROWN PRINCE FREDERIK: What did we see in each other? We saw... Well, it's a bit hard. It's a bit blurry, in a way, because it was just after the Olympics had started and it was one of those evenings where...

Thanks Idun for the translation. Just watching this video makes me wonder if Mary is like this in other situations as well: nothing substantial to add, doesn't ask a lot of questions to get more information, only says "yes" in conversations. She seems like she just listens but doesn't really interact with others. The one time she did say something a bit longer (when they were watching the 2 boys play soccer) her voice was hushed, as if she's not comfortable speaking in Danish or asking a question. She's almost 40 and has been in public for 6 years yet she still seems so awkward.

It's more like Scandinavian accent to me. to me she sounds aussie in this clip, just without the broadness of even your average educated, middle class aussie. I think in this clip she sounds less annoying than she has in other clips where she sounded really affected. chick

Welcome to RD, Wondergirl, here's one for you too I couldn't agree more with you about Mosh's interview, keep the good posts coming Chick, I agree with you that it's more Aussie accent. She can't have a Scando accent since she's not Scando herself nor speak the language properly, people tend to keep the melody and accent from their mother tongue when learning a new language.
