I am asking YOU because according to you there is just no way to cover up since no one wears a coat or carries a big purse.
I'm not saying that there's no way to cover up but girls who go clubbing (even when its cold out) do not typically carry a coat or a big purse. There's usually a very short distance from car to club and vice versa.
What I find curious is that Kate gets singled out when countless other women in the spotlight has been caught in similar situation getting out of cabs."Countless other women" are not applying for the job as Princess of Wales.

NO prob. I choose NOT to have compassion for a woman who should know better and still gets out of cabs flashing her underwear, more than ONCE!
I never said prob. It's very clear that you choose not to have compassion - again, that's up to you. I choose differently.

True but she's also human and make mistakes. And she has made relatively small number of mistakes compared to lots of other prospective princess brides - considerable better than Sophie Wessex, Fergie, MM, just to name a few.

Okay, I'm giving Kate the benefit of the doubt here, and I'll tell you why. At the moment, while she's in limbo, she has some very good reasons not to work. First is that there will always be criticism no matter who offers her a job that she only got it because of her royal connections. Second, it's virtually impossible for her to go to work everday with all the cameras that follow her around. Not only is it stressful for her, but it's also highly disruptive and unfair for her company and her co-workers. Just look at the media circus around Diana's kindergarten - teachers were being bothered, children were being upset, parents were being annoyed. The situation would have been untenable and if Charles had not proposed when he did, Diana probably would have had to quit her job. Same situation with Kate - her parents company is probably the only place that would put up with all the media intrusion. So that's why I'm willing to cut Kate some slack regarding her lack of a proper job - the real test is whether she's still lazy after she becomes a princess. If she works hard at her official engagements and so on, I'm willing to overlook this period in her life.
I'm with you. She's damned if she works and damned if she doesn't- her parent's company is probably the only place willing to put up with the media frenzy (or hide her away). I too want to reserve judgement until she's princess. If she can step up to the job, all of this will be forgotten.

If she works hard at her official engagements and so on, I'm willing to overlook this period in her life. I never ever understood this sentiment that Kate lovers/defenders/excusers spew to explain why a college-educated now almost 30-year old woman doesn't work and just sit around at the beck and call of her boyfriend. Do you realize how utterly ridiculous this is to think that of all the high profile people in this world Kate Middleton is the only one of them who cannot work because of media intrusion. If that's the case, celebrities and other high profile people would never work. Kate doesn't work because she doesn't want to miss out on being able to go on vacation and any other event that Willam wants her to. She has no problems with the media when she goes out to watch William live HIS life. Well, at least this excuse to explain this woman's total uselessness is better than the other that Kate's lovers/defenders/excusers gave to explain why Kate doesn't work - that being she would just have to quit when she gets married to William. I believe after the fourth year of waiting for that elusive engagement people realize that this excuse sound quite silly. What if every woman used this excuse not to work. Brilliant post, Bystander!

Shos, Little Star and Divinemiss, quite agree with you on the crotchgate-issue. I think the comparison with party-scene-celebs is superfluous, as being "naughty" and scandalous is what they live for, since it is what sells and what keeps them in the spotlight. It is not appropriate behaviour for a future Queen, wondering if a crotch-pic of Kate, Princess of Wales should be excused as well, since it is sooooo difficult to get out of a cab, and the paps are so mean? After all that pic will sell even better... If anyone really wants to see how one should get out of a car wearing a short skirt, just look to Dita Von Teese. Check out video of her arriving to fashion shows and getting out of a car-- she keeps her legs closed and swings them out together, putting both feet on the ground and simply standing straight up! When she gets in, she does the same thing in reverse, stand with legs closed, sit, and, keeping legs together, swings both legs into the car!! And it's not awkward, just one full, smooth motion. Either you care to do it the right way, or you don't... simple as that.

OMG....WTF is wrong with him? There is NOTHING funny about posing with a dead creature. It is sick and disrespectful to animals. I'm sorry if this seems like I'm being uppity but seriously, this is just sick. I don't find these pics to be funny or humorous in any way at all. And I don't want to hear that this is just drunken university antics. I went to university (I was even friends with a few fraternity guys-the usual culprits involved in stupid behavior) and never came across anyone doing such sick things. This is just as sick and creepy as those pictures the DRF takes after their hunts. What a loser he must be.

Kate can work if she wants too. Look at Chelsy. She is dating Harry and she studies and works etc. Why all the excuses for Kate not doing something productive?
As for the Knickers, getting caught once is excusable. You learn from the experience. Being caught constantly means she is not trying hard enough to cover up(I would have worn pants second time around or not gone at all).
Other than that I have no real opinion, good or bad, about Kate yet.
