She had the whole package, charisma and all. There will never be another quite like her. IMO
There is not one current princess today that comes even close to diana. She was truly a global
princess, and her face instantly recognised the world over. The sad thing about her was that she
had so much more todo with charities and other causes , and she knew she had the power of the media
behind her. I loved just about every dress that she wore. She had that star quality too....
   Beautiful lady, gone too soon...

I liked Diana the best in the 1980's. Her 90'ties looks were not so good, especially not after the divorce became final. She might have felt completely liberated inside, but she started to look like a tart imo.

Wow....even though I'm a big Diana fan I wouldn't take it so far. Actually I dislike her 90s look - especially her hair. I love the early years with fairytale dresses and that special innocent look she had then. One of my favorite outfits is actually her blue engagement suit. She was criticized a lot for it but I think she looked fab.

I agree with you, Lille. I hated the curly hair, it aged her imo. I also liked most of her fashion choices up to the separation in 1992, I didn't like most of the Versace dresses and the really low-cut gowns she wore after that, and the sleeveless little dresses, like the one she wore when her gowns were auctioned off from Catherine Walker didn't flatter her figure imo. She had very narrow hips and very long legs and they accentuated the shape rendering it out of proportion in my eyes.

My favorite portraits of Diana were done by Patrick Demarchelier, especially the ones he did at Highgrove with the kids. I love the one where she's embracing one child while the other is at her shoulder, she looks blissfully happy. I think the later shots by Testino were photoshopped too much, she was heavier than she was when her dresses were made, they were let out at the seams but you don't see that in the pictures, and there's something about the light too that puts me off, I think people like them because they were the last portraits done, and also because she looked different, her makeup and hair look more natural, which as we age everyone should do.

I really dislike the first look. She looks much older than she was. I think the second picture is from the day her first pregnancy was announced....a pure English rose and so demure Blush The third pic is from engagement day. Loved her look.

Looking at the standard then and now, it's nice to see the very noteable shift away from the heavy, starchy blazer and skirt business suits which characterized Diana's working wardrobe.

The white beaded one-shoulder evening gown she first wore to Melbourne during her first royal tour. It marked the moment whe went from "Romantic Di" to "Glamourous Di"

A memorable look was the the ice blue coat dress by Catherine Walker that she wore the the enthronement of the Japanese Emperor. She looked formal, regal yet youthful all at once and I even thought the headband with the little veil was nice as well. Only she could wear that.
