it's not only the will. the "evenbuertigkeits" rule is a rule observed in former reigning german houses. just look at what happened to the prince of leiningen.

Exactly. And for naught as his wife ended up divorcing him and hooking up with the Aga Khan. Ironic.

ok...what happened to Prince Leningen? thx Danishorphan and a back G Prince Karl Emich was the hereditary prince and in 1991 he married Gabriele Thyssen. She was not of equal rank and his father, Prince Emich, disinherited him. The german courts sided with the father. His younger brother, Andreas, was the successor as he made an equal marriage to Princess Alexandra of Hanover, the younger sister of Ernst-August. Gabriele ended up divorcing Karl and moved on to the Aga Khan but now they two are kaput.

I read somewhere in other forums that Carina apparently likes "reading what is written about her". I wonder if she would stay with Gustav if his family lacked social influence and recognition?

Really? Has she said this publicly? Talk about a narcissist. I'd love to know where you heard this (just out of curiosity). If she enjoys reading about herself, then she must not be bothered by all the comments out there along the lines of "I feel sorry for her" and "why does she stay with him" and "why won't he just pick her over the inheritance" and "how sad-she's over 40 and no husband and no baby". It would depress me if that was me they were saying those things about.

It was something I read either in the royal forums or cotilleando, I rather think it was this last one. The person who wrote that didn'rt mention the source. I have never heard her say this publicly but to be honest, I wouldn't put it past her if it was true. It's more than obvious she enjoys every minute of the spotlight thanks to Gustav's familiy. Some forums are also full of false rumours, though.

Thanks Prinzessa! She does seem to enjoy the spotlight. The first pics I saw of her were at a wedding. She seemed very shy and demure. Then she got used to the cameras and didn't seem to be shy anymore. (I don't think she poses like Mary does but she def doesn't mind the cameras).

You're very welcome, Pixiecat. Not to forget: "there's something worse than being talked about which is not being talked about". I get the impression that she cares about royalty more than Marie for example, and that without being a real princess...yet.
