Hey, can someone tell me why Mette-marit seems to have so little activities?  Confused Is there a reason for that? She only had very few in the past months.. although she visited South-Korea with her husband.  Thumb up

Hope it is ok that I opened a thread for this CP couple.  Smiley

She also went with Haakon to Austria very recently.  I would think that having three young children takes up much of her time even with assistance from nannies.

My mistake.  The Norwegian Family hosted Austrian President Dr. Heinz Fischer and his wife on a State Visit to Norway from 17th to 19th of April 2007.

Apparently Mette has cancelled her official autobiography Roll Eyes. Always thought such items are an irrelevant  extra piece of the royal website but apparently there was disagreement between the author and Mette and the court. Anyone have any idea about this?

Well I for one am glad that there would be no autobiography about her. IMO, an autobiography is written on the life and times of a person particularly if he has achieved something. MM is too young and have achieved too little to warrant an autobiography. Now if it is written to exploit her past notoriety, that's a different thing.

Yes it is good that i was cancelled but the idea to start writing it in the first place was a bad one. The biographys/conversation books or whatever you wanna call it about the younger royals are rarely anything to waste money over, the book on Märtha for her 30th, the Victoria-Victoria and the Mary/Ninka book did neither of the subjects any favors with me, and sometimes frogs jump out of their mouths that is difficult to get rid of Roll Eyes.

As I got it, this book was supposed to be some sort of way for her to talk out about all that has happened the last years and a way to go deeper into the topics she feels stongst about. It seems the author/publisher and MM/the court could not agree on the content and the way the book should be edited/presented. The author though is not a scandal person and he said he was not interested in digging in the past. He was chosen by the court after MM had read his book "Dear Gabriel" a very beautiful book about beeing the father of  a child that is diagnosed with atypical autism, and the challenges and difficulties it is to raise a child where every word only can have one meaning and the articulate presision you have to use when communicating with him.

the book has been delayed seveal times, in the interview that was given with the author on firday she said her very difficult pregnancy with Sverre and the death of he father futher delayed the book and they agreed to stop the project.

the publisher/author has gotten covered the expenses they have had, there are no plans for any new biography at the present, and IMO the courts PR woman handeled this quite well, had they not talked to the press and appeared together there would have been lots of speculation and now there are really just short reports that the book was cancelled in the press.

And a last bitch comment, IMO until she gets more articulate (there has been progress theese last 6 years though) extensive inteviews are not a super idea as it is now every second sentence she says contains the words "very important" and the other sentence the word "focus," and then everything sounds unimportant and unfocused Tongue Her focus Halo should try to be to do her work regularely and dressed nicely like on friday and stick to the brittish motto of "never explain, never complain, and limit the inteviews to the obligatory short press meetings on longer trips or special events.

Thanks Larzen for your delightful insights. And no, your last paragraph is not bitchy at all. I agree that the few times I have heard her speak, whether in a speech or in a coversation, I have heard those 2 words you have mentioned. And furthermore, the advice you just gave her should be well taken into consideration by Per Thornit on behalf of another crown princess.

No, I don't think MM is high-falutting or as inarticulate as Mosh but she does tend to say the same words over again. At least she does not give the impression in interviews about trying to sound "smart" even if what she is saying is in actuality nonsense.

She did look very nice. Glad to see that I'm not the only one that struggles with the "back strap" of sandals. I've got one pair where the strap doesn't want to stay up at my achilles tendon and therefor have to pull it up the whole time!
