Marie is adding another patronage to her duties - here is the article:

Pre-count list of the Danish National Commission for UNESCO, Prix littéraire des Ambassadeurs and Tønder Festival. The fourth in a row is Denmark Skiforbund. With the honorary business frameworks Marie direkre into a personal interest. She is even almost born with a pair of skis on their feet. - We are extremely pleased that Princess Marie has agreed to be patron of our association, and that she herself is active skier, is not unimportant for us, says the chairman of Ski Federation, Henrik Nørgaard.

Wonderful, Marie seems very at ease in skis and I hope she does a good job.

Apparently she is adroit at the skiing stakes, so that would make her a good candidate for the patronage, there wouldn't be much point in asking Yrma to be patron, skiing is quite obviously alien terrain for her.

Well she can't have important causes, god forbid that steps on the feet of #1 Princess who has to be the best of everything.  Whistle
What Marie CAN do and should do, is be the best at the ones who she has.

Between Mary and Alex, who took the big chunk of the important ones between them, are there any charities left in Denmark needing a patron?

I have no idea If this reasoning is actually true It's unbelievable that she is so generously paid for this silly stuff even a fashion patronage is better than ski what next? bingo?!
Maybe they should have made me the patron of food since I'm very good at eating  Tongue

Nice to meet you, i'm my family's patron of food LOL

I'm only going by what Sarah Ferguson said once that there were charities she would have liked but that she had been told that they were earmarked for Diana as the wife of the eldest son, she only had certain others that she could have her pick from.

I don't think there has been a royal patron of the Danish ski federation, possibly ever. (Correct me if I am wrong.)

The Ski federation is probably one of the less important sport federations in Denmark for three reasons: 1) It hardly ever snows in Denmark, and when it snows, it hardly ever stays on the ground. (exceptions exist, obviously). 2) Denmark is not a very mountainous country, so there are limited opportunities for downhill skiing, although there have been made artificial downhill skiing arenas, if I recall right. 3) Danes tend to focus on summer sports, or indoor sports.

The above is probably why the federation wants a patron to put focus on their organization, to get more members.

Sure, Marie could find worthier causes, but I think that being the patron of an organization that encourages to get people moving and outside, is not a bad thing in these obesity-filled times.

It is true. There have been articles in BB that they need to divide up the country to ensure no competition between the princesses and I also read an article in BB years ago that mentioned the need to reserve some of Alex's more "heavy" patronages that she would give up after the divorce, so that Mary as CP could work with more important stuff than fashion. Mary gets her own apanage, but Marie is paid for out of Jokke's allowance, even though he got a raise when he married her. That and the fact that Mary is CP IMO means she should have the more impactful patronages and should also work more.

ITA thrilla.

Plus it's been obvious from Day One that Mary has been built up by the RF and media as the new "star" of the family.

Well, well, yet another totally insignificant patronage for La BonBon. Sofar she has The Tonder Festival (hardly worth mentioning), the French speaking association (same), something with an university (not a patronage) and Unesco Denmark. Unesco is a worthy patronage imo. The rest is fluff, fluff and more fluff.
What causes this??
A. the men in grey reaaallly do not want her to overshadow Mary.
B. BonBon really is a dimwit after all.
C. There really isn't anything for her to do in Denmark (most probable cause imo), as everything is already "taken".
D. She really doesn't care and is indeed as lazy as she said she was.

Why can't they give her something with a social or medical issue?? This is all just much ado about nothing!!

Why isn't it worth mentioning? - you must have a reason for saying so. Thinking

As a ex-pat of France, could she maybe do a charity back home as patron?

Perhaps once she shows she's not going to do a runner, they'll start giving her a little more substance to go with the *lite* patronages?

The ones she has, maybe they feel they could do with a little glamour that the royal title can bring to them?
