There is no way paparazzi would NOT have shown up. Alex is news, and her children (Princes of Denmark) lost their grandfather.

Yeah, and noone would have complained if she had asked the reporters to stuff it. And she was the only one who could have asked them to leave because she's the evil witch from Hong Kong who bosses her mother and siblings around. They suffer in silence under her constant quest to get attention. Which she only gets because she wants it. It has nothing to do with public interest in her at all. Billed bladet, Se og hør, Ekstra bladet and BT were ALL there just because Alex catered to them.
Obviously.
i had no idea that it was that bad. the public interest exists, and nothing wrong with inviting the paps. but her "private funeral" talk sure makes her look like a big hypocrit. proclaiming one thing but not doing it. nothing new. I don't see that. How does it make her a hypocrit? They showed up. I doubt she had to call them to do so. As you say - there's a public interest = they show up. It's quite logic. it's a private funeral = you don't show up, unless you've been invited. quite logic.

As long as it is a public church, anyone can show up, regardless of invitation or not.
Nobody said the media had any respect for privacy as long as they could sell pictures of it.

And you're perfectly aware of that.

"Dear Billed Barfet, As you are probably aware, I am in mourning, I would therefore like to invite you to take a few pictures, and write some crap, to make this whole thing as public as possible, to record the whole sad and personal scene onto celluloid, as I just lurve the publicity, no matter what the occasion! Yours sincerely" or if not, what's your take on how the 'invitation' was initiated? ...........since you are so sure Alexandra invited the press lupina

Where have I said Alex is a saint? I criticize her plenty. I can have a balanced view, unlike people who immediately jump to extreme views.

The self-righteous need for attention devolves quickly into irrelevance. History soon, no worries.
There were no photos of the funeral itself, only the exterior proceedings. So, flimsy argument anyway.

Thanks, LS! Yes, it was a sweet thing Nikolai is quoted as having said. I wish it had been reported whether or not he said it in English or in Danish. He spoke English pretty well with his grandparents in that documentary he was recently in.
