Same day later.......Haakon & MM are visiting a Mosque; they pose in front of the Malaysia`s landmark Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque in Shah Alam outside Kuala Lumpur.

I don't know who gave MM the advice to cinch/belt her waiste constantly. It makes her look like a sausage.
There are so much more favourable options.

O Gawd!

Apart from the yellow dress she looks awful The coat looks like a bathrobe and shoes like bedroom slippers
Everything screams frump and did she apply her makeup in the dark ?WTF?

She looks exactly like a ex-druggie waitress Dead

Agree with you there Poptart. The yellow dress was the only nice thing on this tour and gave her a much needed shot of color. All the other outfits just emphasized how washed out, and frumpy she is.

OMG, Mette looks so frumpy in most pictures. Her hair is so messy, can she fire her hairdresser? She destroyed her yellow dress by wearing it with this  horrible jacket. I know that this woman wears designer clothing and contrary to other princesses she does not recycle her outfits. But the way MM wears her outfits, they look like from Salvation Army not designer. Whistle This woman is such a waste: so much money must be spent for her wardrobe, hairdos, makeup, stylists and almost no results.   Crap You cannot make a swan from a duck.  Halo

The thing that really frustrates me about MM is that she is such a label-follower.  I mean, come on, just because the label says Valentino doesn't mean that you should automatically buy it and wear it!  So what if he's a personal friend who invited you to sail on his yacht!!  If it doesn't look good, then don't wear it-- it doesn't matter who designed it!!!  She needs to take a hard look at her wardrobe and the $$ that's she's spending on clothes that don't flatter her at all... I mean, how does she justify the expense???  At least be able to say, "hey, I splurged but dammit I look good!!"  That's rule number one when it comes to assembling a wardrobe!!  I just don't get it!  She's just coming off as so superficial and not very savvy at all!! Thumb down

It's not only Valentino from which IMO- I guessing- she gets a big discount (which doesn't make the clothes looking any better  Grin ) she wears A LOT of Alberta Ferretti but you wouldn't guess It just by looking at her  Wink
her posture seems better than before but that's about It anyway I guess like most of them she thinks that she looks good just by wearing Valentino in her mind It's probably upgrades her look to the "princess look"
her necklace looks very tacky and infantile

I realize her husband loves her for who she is, and that's great but she needs to start taking a bit of care in her personal appearance.  MM and I are very similarly built.  I don't have a lot of fashion sense but even I know that her choice of outfits are bad.  The belts do nothing to help her cause (or mine - and so I don't wear them).  If she just took a bit of time, she could look so much better.  It sucks but sometimes when you are built like us, you have to do quite a bit of looking around at clothes before finding the dress/skirts/pants that look good on you.  If I can do it working full-time, with 2 kids and no nanny, and no access to the Valentions and Pradas of the world, she can do it, too.  Someone needs to tell her and Mary that it isn't all about the labels.  Just becuase the yellow dress looks good on the model, it doesn't mean it will look good on you.

I remember some shots of her in a bikini the summer after she had I-A.  She was slim again and looked great.  I thinks he is still having a bit of a tough time accepting what she looks like now.  Once she truly does, she will look good again.

Does MM dress quite frumpily because of her past (doesn't want to be seen as a good time girl)? Its unusual because although many princesses don't appear to get it right very often there isn't another one that I would accuse of deliberately trying to play down her looks by dressing frumpily.

I actually think she looks very good in the pink and white belted outfit.  Also, her skin is fabulous and her makeup is soft and lovely.  And her hair looks surprisingly healthy for how overprocessed it is.  Some of these photos are gorgeous.

If that's the case, she wouldn't have bought so many clothes from  Valentino, Alberta Ferretti and Prada, would have been more modest, not so much into designer labels IMO. I think She hasn't come to terms that she is no longer slender as before.
