I still can't believe she gave up everything for Martin. Was Jokke really that bad? I think she looked great in the first years after she had the boys. Martin looks like a rabbit. Perhaps the secret is that he f**** like one as well Secret

ITA Lille, I'm also  wondering if she has real regrets about the split.  I think her seeing Jokke and Marie doing so well together, plus cute little Henri...even though she and Martin have seemed happy, I really do wonder if the luster is rubbing off already.  She's probably too old to have another child but I think she'd love to have Martin's baby; and I think she severly misses her old spotlight...being more in the public eye, and being royal with all the prestige and money that goes along with that.

I think having Martin is sort of instead of having another baby. I think he is fine for good times and as long as she makes the effort to look young and hot they can have mindless fun together. I don't think he would bring much depth as a partner to age with.
I predict we will have another interview with Alex soon - I think she does miss the limelight especially after such a big event as the Queen's 70th. It was a shame she was not involved in any of it.

Don't get me wrong, Alex is/was a beautiful woman, but I can't help but notice the rapid aging since joining the DRF, just like Mosh. I wonder what causes it?? So far, Marie seems to have been spared.

Notice that Alex frequently did not carry a handbag
I also wish that Alex had joined Daisy birthday party
As long as Alex has the money to spend Martin will stick around

I actually think she looked lovely when she was a member of the DRF. After the divorce it has been all down hill, imo.

Perhaps the stress of being the premier royal princess in the DRF has taken a toll on both Mary and Alex. Before Mary came along, Alex was the only young princess in the family and all eyes and expectations were on her, now Mary is the Crown princess - under the same kind of scrutiny. With Marie now - she really has no pressures since mary is the one everybody is focused on. So she's just a happy new mother and an adored new wife - there's really little stress to age her!

What's there to being a premiere princess?

Royal Heirs...the DRF pays top kroners to rent your womb.
Others do the chores...raise your kids, wash your clothes, cook your meals, clean your home The Palace, etc. etc.
Others take care of your hair, face, and body.
You literally only do sh*t for yourself.

Alex showed up and smiled for the cameras...
Mary is showing up and smiling for the cameras...
For what?  A total of 30 engagements...a month's worth of work.
That's not including the summer break when ALL royals are on vacation.

I was refering the stress of constant scrutiny where everything you do, say, wear is open for discussion and criticism. And it's been noted that Alex does a lot of homework and research before showing up at an engagement so she's knowledgeable and able to converse intelligently - unlike Mary.

Oh, RO, not trying to be argumentative with you per se.   Halo

But they do so little, read what the speech writers have written after they've done the research, and
wear such high-end designer duds.

Alex showed up prepared and probably looked more relaxed.
Mary, the premiere premier, prepared to show up and be look at.

It's not an argument, it's a discussion board, and we're all free to voice our own opinions so don't worry about it!  Wink

And, of course I know what you mean that they do very little for the amount of money they receive - I agree. However, I was comparing the stress of a crown princess position (like Mary's) with that of a more junior princess position (like Marie's). I'm not comparing them to the rest of us hard-working non-royals  Smiley

I'm still not seeing the difference.....Crown Princess vs. Princess.....just titles.

Being patrons of organizations?  The stress from how many each have chalked up?

Managing different allowances?  Reminds me of how jealous Fergie was of Diana's bigger spending budget.

There's a huge difference between the wife of the heir to the throne and the wife of just a prince. So Diana and Mary as crown princess (although Diana was known as Princess of Wales) not only outranks the Duchess of York and Princess Marie, but they are a much bigger deal status and protocol-wise, as well as get a larger allowance. Not to mention access to jewels and other perks. Take a look at how many tiaras CP Maxima has gotten to wear (I think it's 8 or 9 now) compared to her sisters-in-laws.

They still wake up and put their tiaras on the same way.
