Prince Joachim and Countess Alexandra's eldest son found himself bleeding during playIt didn't end up good, when Countess Alexandra had decided to eat lunch at the sushi restaurant Sticks N 'Sushi in Øster Farimagsgade, Thursday afternoon.
The Countess had taken Prince Nikolai to the restaurant and the lively boy played the game "put the turbo on", but forgot the radar. Therefore, he oversaw a glass door at the restaurant, which he ran straight into. Prince Nikolai was bleeding a lot.
According to Ekstra Bladet sources, Countess Alexandra became angry at Prince Nikolai, who was scolded. And directed a few critical word to the restaurant because the door was hard to see.

This is going to sound like a really dumb question, but what's put the turbo on? While the restaurant has a lot of responsibilities to their clients to keep them safe, the child and it's parent should be responsible as well to make sure the child is suitably rigged up to play a game on the premises too, shouldnt they?

Ouch! Poor kid. I do think it was not cool for Alex to criticize the restaurant though. Restaurants are not places for kids to run around.

I really don't know, but I can imagine it is to run around fast....."turbo gear", maybe he played, or re-enacted the race, he attended with Felix, Jokke & Marie....
who knows, but you are spot on, enelya, parents carry the bigger part of responsibility in keeping an eye on their children - wherever the children are and play, not matter what the age!
And I tell you, would that have happened on Jokke's watch, he wouldn't heard the end of it.

You know it, Martin would have been kvetching to the press that as their father he'd never ever let them get a scratch on them like that or some such stupidity from their step-father. But it's not like he's Christian/Izzy's/Little Henrik's ages where the kid could escape the parental watch, Alex should have had him sitting down. I mean most of the sushi places around here where I go don't usually have room to let the kids run amuck.

I don't know of any sushi restaurants that are set up like Chuck E. Cheese (pizza restaurant with games and rides for kids). He shouldn't have been running around and Alex had no business lecturing the restaurant owner.s

Are we sure the translation didn't get messed up and it was actually meaning Christian and Mary? I mean the ICON I could see throwing around the entitlement tiara in the establishment

Based on what has been posted, I think Alexandra was in the wrong for blaming the restaurant.

WE need more info but it sounds to me that Alex was not placing the whole blame on the restaurant - she did chew Nik out as well. Maybe she spoke to the restaurant because the glass door was not clearly marked so it looked like there was nothing there - the way that birds fly into glass doors all the time?

Children of his age should be mature enough to sit nicely and either talk with company or play whatever game at the table.

I understand that, but I do not think any blame should be on the restaurant. Unless they had knives sticking out of the floor or whatnot, the boy should not be running around. Like I said, I am giving opinion based on what has been reported so far.

ITA, Barrie. He is ten, children get bored sometimes and spas out, entertain themselves ....so I can see how it could have happened. What I don't understand is why Alex didn't lead him to sit down at the table and behave. There is no need for him to "play turbo". At his age he should be able to sit at the table for a lenghty time and have dinner without any incidence, fidgeting or the need to be entertained! Also, be an example for his little brother.

Wasn´t there an similiar incident some years ago? But then an other kid got hurt...or was it an adult. All I remember is, that Alex, Felix, Nic and a restaurant were involved

I cant think of many mothers who take their ten year old to eat raw fish though no wonder he ran around a little, sushi places are way often posh places, not presisly child friendly, and of course it is the resturants owners fault that His highness ran into a glas door, how dear they place it in his way
