i would never let my kid run around the tables like a horse... is this alexandra crazy? I'm sure she told him not to run around , behave, etc but he's not the first kid who doesn't listen sometimes. What do you expect Alex to do - tie him to the chair whenever they're in a public restaurant? It's outrageous that Alex is somehow now a bad parent because of this one incident - it's not like Nikolai regularly gets into trouble! Let's see what we'll be saying about Christian in the future - he's much more badly behaved than Nikolai!Nikolai is ten years old, that is old enough to sit down and behave at a restaurant. His not a two year old toddler. This is not the first time this has happened with Alex and her children. Nikolai has behaved badley at a restaurant before this incident. Alex should know better and tell her kids how to behave. I know that Nikolai is ten - but he's still a child and can act up. I'm not aware of another incident at a restaurant. Going by how upset Alex was and how she scolded him afterwards, it would seem that she does not condone his misbehavior. The details of another incident similar to this one are in this thread. http://royaldish.com/index.php/topic,1083.0.htmlYes, Nikoai is a child, but he is ten year old child. There is a difference between a ten year old child and a two year old child. Ten is old enough to know how to behave. Thanks for the link but it looks like there's a lot of information missing and disbelief that Alex simply did nothing. And remember Christian is way over 2 years old not - let's see how he behaves at Victori'as wedding! I can't wait to see how he will act up! Yes, Alex did nothing and let her kid misbehave. Well if you believe that than you're one of the few!

Being "old enough" to know how to behave and actually behaving are two different things. Even group-ups who ought to know better have slipped occasionally and behave badly (I'm sure we all have including yourself) - so why be so hard on a 10-year old?

He's a child - show me a child that always behaves, and I'll be worried. Seriously. All kids miss-behave from time to time. It's normal. In general both Nikolaj and Felix seem well-behaved. I cannot recall either of them acting up at any offical event. On the contrary I think they seem very aware of how to act properly - just like their father and mother IMO.

My point exactly Maria! That's why I roll my eyes when others say, "Oh, he's TEN years old now and should not be running around in a restaurant" and then go on and blame Alex for it. Like I said, what is she supposed to do? Tie him to the chair everytime they enter a restaurant?[
Nikolai and Felix are both far better behaved than cousin Christian!/color]

Perhaps the reason people on the thread are blaming Alex is because she is his mother? If Nikolai is still playng up in restuanrts, IMRIC this isn't the first time, then perhaps Alex needs to think long and hard about the places she takes him to eat.

Perhaps the reason people on the thread are blaming Alex is because she is his mother? First of all, not everyone is blaming Alex for the incident - only certain individuals. Like Maria and others have said, every child misbehaves occasionally - a mother is not at fault for every little misbehavior unless it's all the time - like in the case of Christian. If Nikolai is still playng up in restuanrts, IMRIC this isn't the first time, then perhaps Alex needs to think long and hard about the places she takes him to eat. Gimme a break! Like Nikolai is the only child to ever have run around in restaurants! You eat out much?

Allowing Nikolai to run around a restaurant shows a lack of respect for the other customers who were there to enjoy a meal.
Children half that age can sit down and enjoy a meal at a restaurant without disturbing other customers. Alex should try and teach her children better manners!!

Agreed that children should be told to sit and not run around at restaurant. But aren't you making a huge assumption that Alex did NOT teach and tell Nikolai to sit still, and being an active child, he just didn't listen? Considering how both Nikolai and Felix are normally very well-behaved children (take a look at how they behaved at J&M's wedding as well as during Prince Henrik's birthday celebrations) and it's obvious that Alex DOES teach her children good manners!
I love to see the next time one of your children (if you have children) misbehaves and run around in public- and someone shaking their finger at you saying that you should be teaching your children good manners!

Maybe the reason that Nikolai and Felix were well behaved at Joachim and Marie's wedding, Henrik's birthday celebrations etc. Is because they have a father there, that teaches them how to behave and conduct themselves in public. Then its a different story when they are with their mother. Any woman who chose the sleaze bag Martin to be their children's step parent and play important part of her children lives. In my view, shows bad judgement as a parent.

Maybe the reason that Nakolai and Felix were well behaved at Joachim and Marie's wedding, Henrik's birthday celebrations etc. Is because they have a father there, that teaches them how to behave and conduct themselves in public. Then its a different story when they are with their mother. Again, you're making HUGE assumptions with no facts to back them up. Any woman who chose the sleaze bag Martin to be their children's step parent and play important part of her children lives. In my view, shows bad judgement as a parent. And you're letting your dislike for Martin cloud YOUR judgment. Just because you don't like the way he looks doesn't mean he's a sleazebag. Daniel and Joachim both look weird as well - does that mean they're "sleazebags" as well? From all the photos and documentary videos I've seen, Martin is a wonderful step-father, he spends time taking care of them, being with them, and Nikolai and Felix obviously adore him.

I am not basing my judgement on Martin on physical apperences. Martin is a sleaze bag because of a number of factors. These factors include, investing money in the porn industry. The fact that he never had a real job. Also, the fact that he chose not to have a relationship with his own biological daughter. Lastly, because he has said some really dumb things to the media. These factors make me question Alex's judgement in allowing him to become step parents of her two sons.

However, he has shown that he is a very good step-dad to the boys. If you've seen that documentary which followed Nikolai from the time he was born, you can see the wonderful relationship and interaction Martin has with the boys and they with him.
