The dress sold for 200,000 pounds to a museum in Chile. I'm glad for Elizabeth Emanuel, because a year or so ago I read her company was in deep financial trouble, and a while ago she lost ownership of her name.

I'm glad that it went to a museum so people can see it. How awful if it ended going to some spoiled teenage girl whose rich daddy bought it for her to wear to her prom!  Crap

Spiteful How morbid would that be Royal!  Gwen, I also recall some financial problems Elizabeth Emanuel was having. Glad the dress went for that price  Thumb up

In the Daily Mail the Emmanuels said they had no idea that the black dress would show so much cleavage when Diana got out of the car. Just like they had no idea that the wedding dress would get crumpled on the way to the church? I think they must be a bit clueless, really!

That black gown actually did not look so low-cut when Diana was standing up straight. However, the Emmanuels must have forgotten that in order for Di to get out of the car, she had to bend over to avoid hitting her head, and it was then that her puppies half popped out! Charles, who got out of the car first, reported told the waiting photogs "Wait til you get an eyeful of this!"

Well some of the winners from 97's auction did wear their dresses for some events if I remember the article correctly from online around that time. They didn't realize the significance of the dress I guess.
