Marie's abysmal poll numbers

must be hard to face that RD's icon is not doing well in the polls.

i don't know for you PeDe but in my experience people working in a financial institution and showing up in hot pants to work do not usually hold an important position... actually, in my experience, they wouldn't be able to keep a position if they dressed like that to work... unless, of course, i you have family ties with the boss and can do as you please.

re. marie's activities, all of them are reported in the press --including that speech, you know those few words, in danish that she gave at the university. if it had not reported, you'd have to make it up. the reporting on her activities and the photo shoots she made were as sugary as they can get.

you gotta admire the DRF who on one hand is, according to the common belief of this board, in the process of kicking mary out of the DRF and impose her a divorce from fred on her, yet at the same time the same DRF is making sure that marie gets no or negative press, so that mary comes out looking the better one, gotta love it.

Couldn't her abysmal numbers have anything to do with the fact that she simply doesn't seem to work and takes that stupid furball with her all the time?? She doesn't strike me as a very mature adult.

I agree.  Granted, Marie is authentic and has never pretended to be someone that she isn't - super professional woman and style icon - as Mary.  The documentary showed a woman who put on no airs and was almost honest about everything (never bought that story that she and Joachim only had contact until after his divorce). But, I just don't get why so many posters have placed Marie on such a high pedestal. I like Marie, for who she is and for what she has presented herself as - a loving wife and an extremely dedicated mother of a beautiful adorable little boy (and let's not forget her dedication to her little fur ball, which I think is a good thing). She has never struck me as a professional woman with a passion for anything grand (unlike Mary) other than pursuing happiness in her life - and that's not a bad thing.  It seems that she prefers to make sure that her family is happy and secure.  Look how attached she is to Apple and take him/her everywhere. Perhaps she doesn't want to spend a lot of time away from her son and have him raised by a cadre of nannies.  I think Marie will do just the minimum that she has to do - and no more.  She will master Danish quicker than Mary ever will. 

Great post, Bystander. I agree with everything you said, including the comment about the dog. Why should anyone fault her for loving her pet, I don't know. I am always suspicious of people who hate animals, they must be cold and unfeeling, imo.

I don't get this stuff about Marie being authentic. As soon as the media came knocking, she chattered and posed (bending down and posing with reporters) and signed her autograph. What's authentic about genuflecting before the mighty EB god, posing with their reporter, and signing her autograph? Is that what is meant by "keeping it real"?
 
Posing directly for the cameras and giving the press updates about your love life are just keeping it real. It has absolutely nothing to do with being an unintelligent showoff. Bending down for EB just means that you are being true to yourself. It has absolutely nothing to do with being a simpleton. It's really strange that someone who has lived in Switzerland for years doesn't understand the concept of discretion.

For starters, Marie keeps it real because she seems to be the same person she was in those pictures with the short shorts, only with a little less bronzer. There has been no huge makeover, no wardrobe full of Prada, from the flip flops to the sunglasses. She's more real because in her 'fluffy' interviews she doesn't speak in cardboard sentences but sounds like a regular person who's talking in her own voice. I could go and on, but what's the point? You've posted eight times on the board and half of those posts are against Marie, so obviously that's why you're here. Enjoy! 

As for Switzerland and discretion, with arms dealers, Nazi-related fortunes and other shady characters benefiting from the supposed discretion, that's hardly a good thing.

And for my two cents worth, I think marie has a charming character.  She is just so average, and i totally concurr with the poster who commented her appalling wardrobe (on occasion) is somehow comforting....like looking at photos of mares at starmakers.
