Truly its sad how Mary changed all the dynamics..................now Fred & Joachim no longer see each other
Fred & Joachim don't have relationships with each others children
Perhaps Alex was the GLUE that kept everyone together
I think Alex WAS the glue - and much credit goes to her. There are pictures of Alex with Fred & Joachim (pre-Mary) and all three of them were beaming genuninely happy smiles. I have also seen photos of Alex & Fred (also pre-Mary) at a state dinner laughing and joking together and you can defnitely see the warmth and naturalness between them - much like Victoria and Fred. I don't see Fred interacting that way with Mary (in public at least) and certainly nothing like that between Fred and Marie now. |

What is sad that you guys seem to blame Mary for everything! Should we blame her for the gulf spill as well.
Perhaps like many people who Marry and then have children, Frederik is spending more time with HIS children. That's not to say he doesn't see his nephews but we don't know everything that goes on his life 24/7.

From pictures of him sailing, from his activities, The only think Fred puts first is himself and sailing comes second and then the kids. As for Mary been blamed for every thing will thats a idea, we need some one to blame for our recession so i,m blaming Mary for not buying Irish  |

Not everything, but Mary and BB are working to get a 12/7 coverage  Your argument doesnīt go home with me, because HIS children could play with THEIR cousins. Felix and Xian are age-wise as close as Felix and Nikolai. IMO the relationship between Jocke and big bro is definitely "colder" than, letīs say 10years, ago Gulf spill...good idea...those AUDIs and journeys around the globe (for fun) surely eat lots of oil...no surprise BP had to go for oil in the deep sea   so i,m blaming Mary for not buying Irish Mary...Mary  ...   |

for PeDe . BEAUTIFUL picures.  It's sad that all this closeness dissapeared.  And I agree with you: when 2 brothers get married, their wifes have an important role in preserving the relationship between the two (and their children). I hope the things are different behind doors.

I'm sure Jokke and Marie - being sociable and normal people - send many invitations to Fred and, of course, out of politeness, the invitations are also extended to Mary whether they particularly like her or not. I expect that Fred's paranoid, competitive and gauche wife has many fights with him over the issue. I expect that Mary is fully aware of the contrast between her weird, autistic little spawn Christian, and Jokke's gorgeous children. I expect she is also jealous of her daughter's cute and fetching personality. No doubt Lille Pige has made friends with Auntie Marie and adores her.
I expect that poor Fred finds that it isn't worth his while to contradict his vicious, grasping wife. It's easier to get drunk upstairs with mates, away from the shared quarters.

Pede and Lena At the risk of being accused of coming to Mary's defense  I'd like to point out that Joachim's divorce is seen as the primary reason for coldness between the brothers. As in (officially): "Joachim didn't consult me or ask me for advice while going through it, so I felt betrayed". As in (more likely): "Joachim's divorce set in motion a series of events and conditions that made it impossible for me to send Mary packing back to Australia, as Mummy (Lillibet) decreed that we shall have a wedding to counteract the negative PR of the impending divorce". That being said, I'm sure that Mary isn't helping the situation - her bogan ways surely do not appeal to the lord of Schackenborg. |

Good questions thrilla and I do think it's probably one of several factors. I'm not defending Mosh either, but she couldn't be the total cause of a rift between the two brothers. I'm sure there's normal sibling rivalry coupled with the fact that Fred doesn't want his title, Joachim probably would love it, and maybe they resent each other's fates in life. It's like when someone says, "that person broke up a marriage"; they could not have done so unless the foundation was weak or strained to begin with. |
