Yes - I admit it.

First looker me tour - at the Danish church.

Can't believe I waited 2 hrs- curiosity factor. I saw a glimpse of Mary and Fred and thought she's just ordinary, but very lucky to be in her position.  Nothing outstanding about her looks.

Then I turned to the dark side ... Tongue

Yes - Mary - twice - in Australia.

me too - twice "met" mary in oz. When i say "met" i meaned I lined up outside the event and shook her hand.  have some good photos from the second time but havent' figured out how to post them.  We (my family and I) were on tv once waving our flags, and also in an aussie magazine.  it was pretty funny and all my friends think it's hillarious. the first time I "met" fred too. i remember thinking how soft Mares' hands were.  both mares and fred perfectly nice and friendly.  the first time freds was loitering behind mares (ont the 2005 lookerme tour) but we encouraged him over to the crowd and he started shaking hands. i found meeting them both a huge thrill because I'm a big mares fan.  the second time i met her, mares made a smart joke which stunned me at the time now cracks me up!!  She's very witty, gorgeous, smart and sweet imo.  i totally get why fred fell for her. and the other thing is, when you go to these events, the fact is you're hanging out with people who are also fans and out to have a good time.  You wait for ages chatting to the others, someone does a cofffee run, you take and compare photos, discuss your favourite outfits, and basically have a laugh and a good time. and then, if you're lucky, mares will "zing" you with her remarks!  i would tell you what she said but maybe no-one else will find it funny and i did find it embarrassing at first so for years never told anyone what she said.....  i thought to myself "oh no you di'in't!!"

i was there that day too, snowflake!  a big crowd and I'm sure I waited more than two hours!!  but i met mares and fred and it was worth it. my freind gaver her a bouquet of roses and "fruit tingles".. Remember how on that first tour everyone gave mares fruit tingles because she'd said in an article she missed them from oz?  and then she was filmed when she thought she was off camera laughing and saying how everyone was giving her fruit tingles?  the church day was a very fun day!  on her lookerme tour the crowds increased with each event.  there wasn't a big crowd for the sailing event, then there was a bigger crowd at the church and then she did the spontaneous "meet the kids" at bondi...by time of the opera house thing there was a big crowd...because she was getting  more and more press as the time went on.  when she came for the victor chang cardiac opening in 2008, that wasn't publicised at all so there was only a very small crowd - one of our posters here has a photo of the small crowd as her avatar.  I had read about the opening in a tiny article months before and tried to confirm it with magazines etc but no-one had any info.  so it could have been a fizzer but she turned up on that freezing cold day, shook hands etc....another fun day imo!!

I have seen the entire family in Denmark, 2 years ago. They went to an event in Tivoli Garden and I happened to pass by. Mary came very close to me and I have to say that she looks very ordinary even with the expensive cosmetic procedures and make up. She had a lot, a lot of make up and the face looked very oily (like we see it on the pictures here). Unfortunately, at the time I had my old camera and my pictures are not very good quality.
This was about a month after Joachim and Marie's wedding. Marie looked very nice that night.

At the end of course the queen and Henrik came. Henrik had hard time getting out of the car. I thing he had a problem with one of his legs.
The queen's LIW (I do not know who she is) looked very nice Smiley.

Average height, not short, not tall.... not made up when i saw her, but her skin was flawless.  appeared to have ZERO personality, boring, no interaction with anyone but Xn on the dock until Freddles arrived...

My cousin was in Copenhagen with a Danish friend and saw Margrethe earlier this year.  She wouldn't have recognized her as she isn't a royalty watcher at all, but her friend told her it was the Queen.  My cousin says she was just walking with a few men, who could have been either staff or security, and there was very little fuss around her.  She said she was very tall (of course) and had a very regal appearance, but also looked like she'd be relatively friendly and pleasant if you spoke to her (which my cousin didn't attempt to do, she just took a bunch of pictures).  So whatever you want to make of that.  Champagne

Mary who?

I am always ammused by the difference between how someone is reported, and how they actually appear.

Mary, for example.... made up by adoring press folk looking to make a good buck off printing equally good shots, and praised to the heavens as completely faultless by the likes of some of the bigger nutbars on TRF.

Then, when reality strikes, they are seen for what they are - average, not a head turner, low in the personality department, etc.

A friend of mine had a one hour and a but lunch in London, sitting at a table in a quiet eatery on a side street right next to Brad and Angelina (and surrounded by staff and security at other tables) And just in case you are wondering, she had many photos to prove it.

She reported they were either jet lagged, or the most quiet and uninterested (in each other) of couples and though both had certain features that stood out, neither was a head turner at close range.

Hey Chick

I could have been standing right next to you !!.

I was chatting to a few people and that day many were locals who had come out of curioity.People were genuinely excited- local girl made good -the whole fairy tale story.
There was a picture of that day in No Idea too.

Anyway that was many moons ago..
