This is the clip of them coming out of Amalienborg seeming to have words with each other. Notice Per - he seems to tell Mary off!

It happens at 26:40 (yes I did sit through a whole 26 minutes Snore)
http://www.nrk.no/nett-tv/klipp/38587/

that's a classic clip that we've cherished for  6 yrs  .... yes we loved it when Mary snapped at freddy with jaw jutting, teeth clenched!  She appeared lost as to what the plan was, but didn't want to take instruction from Freddy, Per had to jump in and point to the car just as freddy had done minutes ago, but Mary tried to take his head off (in English I'm sure)  Wink

The other interesting thing about that day was when they first arrived at Amalienborg, before the balcony scene, the Clown's walk in together, waving and shit.  Then they walk into the palace arm in arm and as soon as they think they are out of camera range they let go of each other in a snappy manner... Classic moment!

By the way, at the 12:56 mark you can see Tatter's at the wedding wearing a lime green gown entering Fredensborg with some dude.  Her hair is brown and she looks about 10 pounds heavier then usual.  I guess she is a royal whore determined to catch herself a hairy prince.

By Tatter, do you mean Tatiana B.? I couldn't get the video to work properly... Sad

At 1:42:00 & beyond, Jane and Patty are such good little Scottish handmaidens, folding Mary's train as if it were the good set of sheets!

I expected Mary to angrily snap at her bridesmaids many posters had described this scene in comments, but she doesn't.  She is just her normal robtic fake self acting as if she is the perfect princess.

I never watched Mary's complete documentary or her wedding video, I could never sit through the fakeness.  After watching Victoria's complete wedding day, Mary's robotic imitation of how and what a princess is supposed to be is SO OBVIOUS. Victoria didn't need to wait for her bridesmaids to get out the carriage. Victoria and Daniel were beaming during their entire trip through Stockholm, whereas Mary only partly smiled just for the photographers.

I understand Mary's dilemma, but I wouldn't have chosen the solution that she decided to take.  After the engagement announcement, the Danish media built Mary up as the the fairest lady in all of the land of Denmark and Australia - perfect princess material -  and Mary felt that she had to act the part - and she has been acting the part ever since.

In Mary's defense her wedding day was probably the most stressful day of her life. She was in a different country, wearing an uncomfortable dress in a huge church, celebrating her wedding in new language in a "different" religion surrounded by people she had only watched in the news before. Furthermore her wedding was being broadcasted to her new country and she(and not Fred) was the centre of attention. The brides are always the centre of the wedding, and if she is the future queen the attention skyrockets.
Victoria, on the other hand, was surrounded by family and friends, in her country and language, and being used to being the centre of attention and perfectly at ease with it. To me, even Daniel, being the groom in his own country and religion, looked uncomfortable that day.
What I'm trying to say is that it's not fair to compare Mary's behaviour with Victoria's in their wedding days.

 Good post Clara
Very realistic what you said. It's difficult to compare this two . Yes
But you can compare Mary with Maxima in their wedding day and Maxima is by far the winner. Wink

You make some good points Clara, but Ssassi, I think you are right.

In Max's case, she not only had the language, spotlight, new country etc to worry about, she also had the stress of not having her father there.

Of course, I think they did the right thing by keeping him at home, but still-this had to be a bit of a stressor for Max.  She handled herself beautifully throughout her wedding.  I also don't remember seeing any pics of Max acting like a beeyotch to her bridesmaids or friends. Whistle

I don't think those things should excuse Mary's behaviour with her bridesmaids, she shouldn't be rude to anyone under any circunstances, but I've read more than once since Victoria's wedding how different the two acted in their weddings, and as much as I dislike Mary and like to see her actions and pictures in a negative light  Whistle I don't believe we can compare these two.
And Máxi...that woman is amazing, she would be self-confident and the life of the party in any situation, including her own wedding.  Grin
Unfortunately, we can't say the same about Mary, but she truly wanted to be a princess Wink

You;re right Clara.  Star I don't think that Mary should be compared with Victoria.  One was already royal, the other was coming into the role as a consort.

Maybe it would be more accurate to compare Daniel to Mary?  But even then, you are right.  He was in his home country and everything was in his native language.

The more accurate comparisons would be between Mary and Max.  Leti and MM also married in their home countries, so even they had a bit of an advantage (so to speak).

Thanks Pixicat! Star
I don't think anyone could enjoy that kind of wedding(except Máxima, of course Grin) if you were not born expecting it. Even Elena for example was so nervous during her wedding she forgot to "ask" JC his consent before saying "I do". And Letizia in her native country had to leave her wedding banquet for a while as she was feeling sick.

Just wondering if any of you have actually seen Mary, or other members of the DRF (or wannbe members, like TEEF) in the flesh.

I haven't, but two friends of mine have seen Mary - one, in Denmark, Mary attended a flower naming event, and the other in Denmark as well, when Mary and Fred walked past en route to an evening event.

Neither really follow Mary and reported though she looked good, she wasn't anything to write home about (or email, either, as I didn't get word on those sightings until they returned home). Interesting is both said she was tiny and short - the latter took me by surprise, as in her photos, she didn't appear to be on the other side of 5'6.

I met her on their first visit to Australia after the wedding. I'm 166cms (just under 5'6") myself, and you are correct - I'd say she is 5'6".

5 feet 6 inches I would consider that somewhat tall for a women.

That means that Christian is going to be only 6 feet tall? Like some-people say that you'll figure out the exact height of your son by adding 4 more inches to the mothers height or something like that? That theory sounds like BS to me but who knows?

p.s. best user name ever by the way!!

Yes, I was thinking 5' 6" is about average (perhaps a tad taller than average, but not by much) and that's pretty much Mary's height.

It used to annoy the h*ll out of me on one of the sugarboards (COM) when they would insist she was 5' 9" or over - and obvious super model material.
