Now when the Danes are "celebrating" Swedish Queen Ingrid, could they please give her jewels back? Is this year the 10th anniversary of her death?
I suspect the family wants to remind the Danes of the good times and good ol' days of the family, you know when Fred and Jokke were young and there was so much hope and promise for the family... I think it's all nostalgia.
So true....! Shhh....don't say that too loud Victory! Mary will send her henchmen out to get you. Don't you know that it is her "destiny" to cover herself in that poor dead woman's jewels?

Mary wishes she could get her hands on that Khedive tiara. Never in her wildest dreams (or due to destiny) will she ever get it. It will probably end up in either Alexia's, Theo's, or maybe even MC's hands. And that is perfectly okay with me

It will probably end up in either Alexia's, Theo's, or maybe even MC's hands. And that is perfectly okay with me Yes, it probably will. But I think that Victoria should have it! Since she is the rightful owner...! It is a lovely tiara! From http://royal-jewels.blogspot.com" A jewel of great sentimental value to the Danish Royal Family is the diamond and platinum Cartier tiara of Crown Princess Margarita of Sweden. It was originally a wedding gift from the Khedive of Egypt to Princess Margaret of Connaught, who was to marry the future King Gustav VI Adolf of Sweden in 1905. Egypt was the place where the royal couple first met.
After the untimely death of Crown Princess Margaret in 1920, the tiara was inherited by her daughter Princess Ingrid, who brought it with her when she married into the Danish Royal Family in 1935.

Upon her death in 2000 the tiara passed on to Queen Ingrid's youngest daughter, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece.

When the three daughters of Queen Ingrid got married, they wore their grandmother's tiara as a way to acknowledge her memory; Princess Margrethe in 1967, Princess Benedikte in 1968 and Princess Anne-Marie in 1964.
This lovely family tradition was carried out in the next generation, with Princess Benedikte's older daughter Princess Alexandra zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg wearing the tiara in 1998, and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece's Alexia wearing it in 1999. The two remaining unmarried female descendants of Queen Ingrid are Princess Theodora of Greece and Princess Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, so the tradition will continue."

Now when the Danes are "celebrating" Swedish Queen Ingrid, could they please give her jewels back? Mary looks like the back of her head is upholstered, in order to hold the tiara. The Khedive tiara is stunning, better on Anne Marie than Daisy for sure. Pixie kittie, Barrie, I'm in agreement with you, I think it dated and garish.

The only piece that I like in that set is the necklace. I don't like the tiara all that much.

Thanks Odette! You are right-it is dated and garish (especially the way that Mary wears it). I don't like all of the pieces worn together. It almost looks comical (like Mr. T with his piled on jewels). Margrethe has a tendency to do this with her jewels as well, and I think it usually looks tacky.

Ain't that the truth Pixie!!! ty Somehow Daisy can get away with it, it does look tacky, but with her hair color it works better. Mega to Victory for the research. Great addition.

I don't like the tiara, maybe I should have emphasised that, the necklace would look great worn alone. There are some lovely pieces in the collection, hopefully QM wills them out to other family members instead of Mary getting her little hands on them.

I don't like the way Mary wears her jewellery. She always feels the need to wear the whole parure. She's dripping with jewellery, like an old lady with all her furs and pearls necklaces. In an older woman(Margrethe) it can be excused, but someone of Mary's age just looks tacky and cheap.

Ingrid looked fab with her jewels Mary wearing them feels like mockery of Ingrid IMO. She looks like a clown or a cheap girl playing dress-up.
