It was also the installation of the new Duke of Parma, Carlos Xavier. He gave a speech in Spanish and Italian (both fluent). At the reception a reported heard his sister Margarita speaking English, Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian with different guests.

It was hot in the church, most people were sweating because of the heat. The catholic princesses wore a veil. A new wedding date has not been set, but Carlos and Annemarie will marry this year.

Geez, I took a look to PPE series and it looks that Maxima cannot get the wedding party out of her mind, someone told her a good joke or she is doing her imitation of Princess Smug!!
Has someone told her that the party is over???

Laurentiens outfit was indeed a bit too much, and she isn't obviously wearing no bra, as so often  No

I hate to say this, but why do some of the royals/aristos look do sad and distraught at funerals of people they probably were not close to or really didn't interact with.  I know it's supposed to be a sign of respect but some of the people look so fake.  So I'm cool with Max's little smile or whatever it was.  I don't think she meant harm and I don't see any offense being taken.

Are veils common at Catholic funerals in Europe? I'm a Roman Catholic, but I rarely see a woman/girl wearing a veil during Mass.

What's with the smirking?

At least Mabel wasn't wearing a big fat black bow....

no longer but one, two generations ago you'd see women wear veils at funerals.

max is such a hypocrit. it looks as if for a sec she forgot where she was and was about to play excited princess... then remembered that this was actually a funeral.
