Mary who?

Ignore
« on: August 31, 2010, 08:36:41 PM »

With the exception of the fitted white dress she wore to the anniversary of the Danish navy event just after confirmation of her pregnancy, all I've seen is someone who appears to be trying to not look pregnant.

Granted, she may be carrying small right now, only to pop out in a few weeks, but it really does seem Mary is making an effort to not dress/appear like she is expecting.

Does anyone else get that impression as well?

I get that impression too.  It's weird to me because in this millennium, women often dress in a way that shows off their pregnancies.  We all know that Mosh likes to be trendy so I'm surprised that she's not wearing things that other pregnant women tend to do (i.e. Marie and her skin tight blue dress that she wore late in her pregnancy).

But then again, Mary doesn't appear to enjoy being a mother so maybe this isn't so out of place for her. Thinking  I think it is a mental issue that she has-vanity over everything else.

In the first picture, it looks like the Crown Princess is wearing a tad too much rouge and lipstick.  I'm not liking the makeup. Thumb down

IMO Mary is incredibly vain.

She isn't naturally the size she is. She is big-boned  like her sister Jane and she clearly works her arse off (literally!) to look the way she does.

For somebody who works that hard on their weight pregnancy must be pretty traumatic. Especially when last time with Izzy she put on quite a bit of weight, especially in the face, which is no bad thing in her case.

IMO she's doing everything she can to keep as much weight off a possible in addition to wearing clothes that don't make her look pregnant. I think that's incredibly sad. I haven't had kids myself but IMO it's nothing to be ashamed of and the way Mary is acting/dressing seems to be sending out the message that there is something to "hide".

Although she might just be trying to get a few more column inches out of the press, "Where's the Bump" etc?

Your so right Little Star  Star
(your avatars are so great, I esp love the jewelry shots, beautiful!)

Behavior like merelys signal signs of something more serious going on.  Boof is usually good in the analysis area.  Don't you get the opinion she's "running as fast as she can" so to speak.  And what is she running for?  Bad choices?  An impotent boy child husband who cares little for her?  Two children who are literally "screaming" for her love and tenderness.

Very sad indeed. She is not the winner she was hoping to be.  She is a pathetic, silly, vain, selfish lady who doesn't have a clue about anything.  Her actions show her stupidity.

Jill Michaels was quoted as saying she wanted to adopt, because she didn't want pregnancy to "ruin" her body. It would not surprise me if Mosh felt pregnancy ruined her body, but in her position, she cannot elect to adopt children, she must produce legitimate heirs to the throne. Seeing as there already are 2, why go for number 3 if you only want to hide the physical evidence of being pregnant? I do believe the twins were a shocker for her. Wonder if a small part of her might regret getting pregnant again.

Your thoughts mirror mine, Pixie.

Today, it's all about show off the bump... as much and for as long as you can.

I wonder if for Mary, it's "reverse bump thinking"... keep the cameras around for as much, and as long as you can while they look for a bump.

Though both sat higher on her waist than normal, I have to say I sensed a mix of vanity and air of open secret with the belts worn at Amber's party and the pre-wedding party in Greece.

Perhaps someone will explain to her at some point it's OK to look pregnant.

With the exception of the fitted white dress she wore to the anniversary of the Danish navy event just after confirmation of her pregnancy, all I've seen is someone who appears to be trying to not look pregnant.

Yes, I do believe Mary is a) trying not to look pregnant and b) trying to gain as little weight as possible and putting off the invariable ballooning up she will do as a pregnant woman carrying twins.

ITA with all the comments.
It is strange that she doesn't
a) display a huge amount of joy (depite the claims to the contrary) at this pregnancy. I would have thought that if she was so desperate to have a large family she'd be gushing with happiness.
b) If she is indeed so ill, why isn;t she being kept at home/hospital and properly medically managed (we used to admit women and have them on intravenous feedings if they were so ill in their pregnancies
c) Not tryng to show the world her tummy - with Christian & Izzy she couldn't wait to get into the tight clinging spandex to show her maternal, earth-mother look.  Confused
add to this the fact that Fred seems to either avoid being near her or ignore her as much as possible since the great announcement, and all seems strange in the palace. Oh well, I guess everything is as per normal for them!  Thinking Thinking Whistle

I read recently that Jillian Michaels has endometriosis and polycistic ovaries so it appears that she could have some fertility issues.

I'm just really surprised that she isn't showing that much. This is her third pregnancy and she is carrying twins. From my own experience, I showed much earlier with my second.

I'm no one to talk about pregnancies and such but wouldn't it be the case that IF someone was carrying twins and this was their THIRD pregnancy, shouldn't they be showing earlier and more so than say when they were first pregnant?  You know, due with the muscles being already stretched out or something like that.

Absolutely, she's trying not to look pregnant.

With her first two she was so noticeable around her four month, but this go around with twins... she looks like she isn't expecting at all.

I think the idea of carrying twins has her freaked out.  I asked my co-worker today (who has had twins) how much weight she gained and she said it was about 50 pounds and that was what her doctor (at that time in the 80's) recommended for her since she was a little on the skinny side.

I found a website about pregnancy weight gain when carrying multiples.  Looks very interesting.
