This is the title of an article who appeared today in this spanish newspaper: http://www.abc.es/2010090...noruega-201009021030.html
They have a picture of a norwegian newspaper that shows Ari Behn dressed as a woman.
Apparently he was walking through Barcelona for days with a bunch of transvestites to live for himself the most "exotic" part of the city.
They also write about other of his eccentricities and that his mother claims to have a connection to aliens.

Yes, some people have all the luck, and these people are the NRF! I can't imagine another country whose royal family could get away with so much!(MM's past, ML breaking up marriages, talking to angels etc..., Ari Behn and his scandals...)

I wonder how Harald and Sonja raised their kids.  I have no problem with MM, as I think her and Haakon were absolutely meant to be, but both of their kids chose non-mainstream spouses.  Just because H & S suffered because of tradition doesn't mean they should have been so lax in their parenting.

You know every time I think the royals have settled into boring lives of ribbon cutting etc along comes a character like Ari or Snake girl to liven things up!

If it was a novel they would be too contrived and unrealistic to introduce...

They are a very peculiar family. I think many parents, no matter how forward thinking, would be a bit scared of how their daughter in law would turn out if she had MM's past. And Ari Behn saying to the press he's living off his wife and critizising the NRF? I mean, royals are suposed to have an outstanding behaviour and decorum. The Count of Barcelona(JC's father) believed that a royal bride shouldn't have a past. If he had lived to see this generation....The whole idea of the Monarchy is not modern, but this RF seems everything but traditional in their personal relationships.

Star for Tigerben - you made me laugh  Laugh bounce - and for Clara for finding this.  I knew Ari and ML were both, um, special and unique people, but this is the first I've heard of the whole Mrs.-Behn-has-alien-friends-thing.  Crazy

I think Harald and Sonja were lax in their parenting from the beginning because she had so much trouble getting pregnant and carrying a baby to term, and for awhile they thought they might not have any children, so when Haakon and ML finally arrived I think they were overindulged and allowed everything they wanted.  They learned this let's-test-the-limits-on-everything-and-Mom-and-Dad-will-give-in behavior as young children, and it evidenced itself very clearly in who they chose to marry.

From their kids started dating, H&S were very including of their boyfriends/girlfriends - inviting them along on family holidays to the cabin, and so on, to avoid the feeling that they should have to sneak behind their backs to have a relationship, possibly as they had to do. (IIRC, Princess Astrid did not know that her brother was seeing Sonja until right up to before the engagement, and that was nine years).

I think there have been plenty of strict parenting in that family (Sonja's never looked like one who could tolerate mess, unruly children, or lazy children), but probably very little of it has been devoted towards which boyfriend/girlfriend to have.

The transvestite pictures were from a television show he and a friend is doing for the National television channel here in Norway. The series is based on a concept that they travel the world to meet people who lead unconventional lives. In Barcelona they met some transvestites, who challenged them to getting into costume.

Behn said to VG: "I'm a theatrical guy, so the extreme make-up mask was, from the beginning, okay. The big challenge was putting on a dress. It was actually crossing more boundaries for me than I could have imagined. It will be a very long time before I do this again."
