Mary and Fred could fly all the way to the USA to visit and honor American soldiers but they can't be bothered with Danish soldiers. Wonderful Kronprinsparret you have, Denmark.
I actually like Marie's outfit. It suits her. And Jokked looks good too. We will never know what goes on behind closed doors but in public Jokke is always 100% prince of Denmark. And he chose 2 women who fit into their roles as Danish princess quite nicely. Alex was a good princess, and Marie improves in her role daily.
and to Belle also for some great points. Wish I could spread dust and give everyone at once. In my heart, you are all

I don't think she looks bored. I think she looks solemn which is entirely right for the event.

ITA! and notice she is not seeking out the cameras and waving & pointing like others do -even at the solemn events.

According to BB, Marie broke down in tears during the service, when the band was playing "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

Love Marie's outfit & accessories they look simple and classic, her pearls necklace looks elegant with perfect size pearls and above all it fits well her attire and the event (unlike the one worn by 'you know who' which scream lookatME). Mary and Fred could fly all the way to the USA to visit and honor American soldiers but they can't be bothered with Danish soldiers. Wonderful Kronprinsparret you have, Denmark.

Thank you for all the photos! IMO Marie looks perfectly appropriate for this solemn occasion. Compare this with the ridiculous get-up that Mary wore when visiting injured soldiers at Walter Reed in the US. Excellent post earlier, Louisa! I think it;s a bloody disgrace that Mary an Fred were absent from this event especially when they like to make a big sone and dance about their military work.

Or pretending to sit on a whoopie cushion so as to get one little sticky-out bum bum in at the photographers! I don't think her sincerity can be doubted. Give her a few more years and she will be impeccable beyond what we see now because she will be more tied to the country and therefore more at ease with the customs and language and mindset.

Marie's outfit reminds me a lot of Mares' Jackie Kennedy look at Arlington Cemetery a month or two ago. Both have that retro 1960's feel with the fitted hat and uncluttered, simple lines to the clothes. Must be a new fad in the DRF.
PS...Does she have her hair in a snood?

yup, agree with you there Chris. But for me Marie pulled it off, compared to Moshens....it was a spectacle, and it was ALL about MeMeMe.

I don't think that she looks bored either this is a very serious, sad moment. It's a shame that no other RF members are attending

I looked thru the MSN pic. I am so glad she did not even once wave manically to the camera like her it's all about ME ME ME SIL. Thanks Marie for respecting the seriousness of the occasion. http://msndk.starlounge.c.../index.cfm?objectid=93488
