Why is anybody so surprised by the fact that Charles wants her to go? The man's about 2 fries short of a happy meal. Whatever he wants, he gets and to hell with the common decency. The only smart thing he has done this whole 10th anniversary so far is stayed away from her memorial concert imo. Camilla should do what Dame Barbara did when she was snubbed from the wedding in 81, but in Camilla's case, just pray somewhere like under a rock

Being invited and actually attending are two separate issues. She could have nicely thanked the boys but said she didn't feel her presence would be the most appropriate action to take.
I see eggs being tossed.

Why does she not just go to Althorp and dance on Diana's grave?

It would be easier if she just doesn't turn up. The media will hound her if she is seen smiling...they'll say she is laughing at the fact Diana is dead. Can you imagine the headlines already being prepared!
If she is seen looking down and out, they'll say the camilla feels guilty for what she did to Diana. She won't win either way.
Everyone knows the two women hated each other. I don't like Camilla but she would have earned more points by staying away. Going is a big mistake.

Well Kate never met Diana so I don't see why she shouldn't go. As for Camilla, well...(& Charles).

Well she finally gets a 'one step forward' point from me. Common sense prevailed.

Well three cheers for Mrs. Charles having the gracious sense to stand up to her child husband and getting out of that service.
And dollars to donuts, Kate going will have the media ALL over it because they'll seize it as her "coming out" and so on.
While I like Diana and can admit that she had issues, fitting well with the Windsors and their own baggage, however I can say I have no love at all for Prince Charles nor that woman.

There is something breathtakingly inept about Charles and his advisers. This was the only possible decision and should have been take months ago.
